Family is Everything

I just wanted to bear my testimony this week on the importance of family. Family is the foundation of gospel.  Being raised by a mother and a father is the Lord's plan, the plan of happiness. It is so important that you strive to marry in the temple and make everlasting covenants. Through hard work and obedience you can have an eternal family. A family that you want to spend forever with. The Family is what makes the world and the church function. Without families we have nothing. I pray you strive to live in a family unit and make the decision to raise your children with the true and everlasting gospel. I know this church is true and that the family is everything. I love you all very much. Love Mom

Love

This week I feel impressed to share my testimony on the importance of showing and feeling love in our family and personal relationships. The Lord wants us to be happy and feel loved by Him. One way we can do this is to show love and respect for those around us. It is so important that we are loving to one another, even when our family does things that are not in accordance with the Gospel. We are all sinners, and should not judge, but we are also allowed to protect ourselves and our testimonies from evil influences

. In all things show love and grace for one another as the Savior does for us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Gay Marriage

This is something that I feel like my children need to know my opinion about and my sadness about. The Supreme Court ruling happened on Friday. Gay marriage is now considered legal. Although I hold no anger towards the decision, I will say it saddens me. It saddens me how far we have fallen as a society. Marriage is ordained of God, and is only to be between a man and a woman. I am sad to see how far the world has fallen. I love everyone as Christ loves, but that does not mean I have to accept the sin. I bear my testimony that the church is true, that God loves us all, and that He is the ultimate judge. He knows that our ultimate happiness lies in the family unit, as he intended it. I know this even more so from being adopted into a home with a loving mother and father. I would not trade anything for this knowledge and the blessings that came to me from being part of that family unit. I hope my children understand that we need to have Christ-like love for all, but that the gap between the church and the world is ever increasing. We must choose whose side we are on, I choose the Lords.

Importance of Media

I felt that it was necessary to bear my testimony of the importance of how we use media in our lives. We should not use media to simply fill up time. We need to be careful about what we let into our minds. Watching pornography or especially violent or evil images weakens our minds and hurts our spirit. The body is just an extension of your spirit so you should treat it with the utmost respect, including what you subject it to and visually. I pray that you will gain a testimony of this yourselves and be diligent about what and how you use media. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week 4- The Importance of the Law of Chastitiy

The Law of Chastity has deep importance to our eternal spirit. The Lord wants us to live the law of chastity to become closer to the Lord and be respectful of His Spirit sons or daughters. The Proclamation states,

"The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife. We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed.

We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan."

All children are important to the Lord. Our body's are just an extension of our Spirits, and should be treated as such. We should not only respect our own bodies but our choices when it comes to others. Always pray for guidance in how to best live the law of chastity.

You, my children, have been the greatest blessing in my life. You will never experience the same joy as a family that you have now, unless you fully live the law of chastity within the bonds of an eternal marriage, of this I testify. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Week 3- Covenants and Ordinances/ Eternal Marriage.

I just wanted to bear my testimony of the importance of getting sealed in the temple by the proper authority. The only way we can gain eternal exaltation in the highest degree of heaven is through eternal marriage. Eternal marriages are not made in the temple. We must work everyday to become an eternal union by keeping our covenants and commandments by strict obedience.

Week 2- Gender

"All human beings - male and female- are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual pre mortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose."

I wanted to bear my testimony that I know that gender is essential to our roles here on earth. We have and always will be what we have always been both male and female. The male and female characteristics and spirits compliment each other. When eternally sealed together in the temple I know that husbands and wives create the best environment to raise the spirit sons and daughters of God. I hope that my children will know how important it is to be the gender that they are and know that it is by divine design that they were born into male and female counterparts. I am so grateful for my gender role as a woman, mother, wife, and sister.  I enjoy nurturing and teaching children, as well as balancing out the fun and authoritative figure that your father has embraced as he righteously holds the priesthood. It is important that we work together to become better people and the best version of our selves. "Neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man." I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
